The traffic awareness campaign, launched by McDonald’s Qatar, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior (MOI), has been very warmly received by the public and is helping raise awareness amongst the local community on the importance of safety precautions.
The campaign kick started at McDonald’s airport branch on May 22 and was followed with engaging and educational events at the Al Dukhan branch on June 29. The campaign will officially conclude at the Al Sadd branch of McDonald’s on June 5th and 6th from 6 to 9 pm.
Under the title “Have Fun and learn Tips on Safety & Security”, the campaign aims to spread awareness and promote safety culture among kids and their families through a series of entertainment and cultural activities.
Commenting on this initiative, Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co., the owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Qatar, said: “We are overwhelmed with the community’s response towards the campaign and would like to thank and congratulate the Ministry of Interior and their departments for all their support in helping raise awareness on traffic safety amongst kids and their parents. This is our way to give back to the community we work within and we would like to thank them for embracing the initiative with such excitement and enthusiasm. We are committed to not only providing them with great food but also ensuring their overall wellbeing and safety.”
The campaign includes participation from AlFazaa, Traffic Department, Coast Guard, Civil Defense and MIO Public Relations Department. During the event, posters and brochures are distributed to the customers who have an opportunity to get a first-hand look at the vehicles operated by the Traffic Police and Fazaa.MOI mascots including Shurtie Sadiqim, Aman and Salama, along with McDonald’s characters Birdie, Grimace, and Hamburglar entertain the audience, take photos with them, and educate them on traffic safety, protection and security. Ronald McDonald has his mini show to further engage the kids with face paintings and fun activities, while MOI Departments provides Safety tips and hands out gifts and awareness brochures to the kids.
